im prolly checking 99 there as well. @ least i do when i play online.

sammy's image has to be really out of line for me to bet.

I think i check b/c i usually play 200bb+ deep, sometime 300 or 400bb deep.

IDK if it is right or wrong, but I cant fault phil for cheking if they are super deep, b/c a RR is a very tough call IMO .

By checking in the dark you are sacrificing an opportunity to deploy the most deadly weapon in a poker player's arsenal, The Donk Bet!

By checking in the dark you are sending a message to an opponent that says 'I am willfully foregoing my option of donking into you. Yes, that's right. I am so confident in my postflop abilities because I'm so much better than you, that I can do without this potent and deadly weapon!'

It is the epitome of psychological warfare. It is like tying one hand behind your back and challenging someone to a boxing match. If you know you're still going to win, than why the hell not?

THAT's whats missing from my Arsenal - The Donk Bet!!!!

Daniel did it a lot on HSP as well. Almost always after he raises pre-flop, and is then re-raised and calls. He'll dark check almost every time.

I do love dark betting when someone checks dark just because it seems to irritate them so much like " Oh no my tricky move was countered by another tricky move, whatever will I do"

So if you ever have AA against me just dark check and you'll get paid.

Maybe this is only the hands shown on TV (or the hands I've seen), but it seems like he almost always has a small pair when he checks in the dark.

And let's face it, Phil always knows he's going to win - because he's the best NL Hold'em player in the world. Just ask him, he'll tell you.
