Arizona State Championship - Deep with Kings
Blinds 50-100, tournament just started, I have about 10k. LAG UTG makes it 300. I pop it to 750 from CO with two Kings. Loose SB cold calls (WTF!)? UTG calls. They both have me covered. Flop comes 763 rainbow. Checked to me, safe flop, so I bet 1100 to try to keep one in. SB checkraises to 2500. UTG folds.
I decide it's way ahead (lower pair) or way behind (AA, but probably not a set), so I call (pot 7350). Turn is a ten of clubs, putting club flush draw on the board. He fires another 2,500. I debate calling to try to extract as much from hands I beat as possible, but I only have around 6500 ish left. After much thought I push. Comments? |

Re: Arizona State Championship - Deep with Kings
BTW, this was a $1K buyin tournament with 450 entries, first prize paid $250K, 11th place $1,500, 45th $1,100. Included a few bracelet holders including (I believe) the 2007 WSOP player of the year.

Re: Arizona State Championship - Deep with Kings
I think the push is fine. I disagree about him having AA more often than a set, but I think he has 88-TT more often than either of those.
Edit to add: I think if he bets more on the turn we should be scared. |

But am I only chasing off hands I can beat and that are drawing thin if I push? |
