I just push the flop instead of calling. With his checkraise he's basically flipped his 9 face up.

He's not folding. Get it in.

Why did you underbet the flop. Do you think it makes any difference to the calling ranges? Do you not think that with the hands that may give up on the turn (such as other pocket pairs) betting small is more worrying than betting big.

Bet more on the flop. Shove when you get reraised. You don't want to a 9 to get scared by a flush turn.

I'd recommend never betting less than 2/3 pot until you have a firm grasp of when to deviate from this.

Yeah. I'd bet 300 here because on Stars software that is a convenient amount which is &gt; 1/2 pot.

In general, without other considerations (such as how to get a stack in over three streets, or how not to commit yourself on the next street), I like to bet 2/3 on flops and 1/2 on turns (as I say, all other things being equal).

It's hard to lay down a flopped FH, and the SB isn't going to lay down trip 9's. I'd guess that he limped in w/98s and filled up on the turn... (Or limped 96)
