Default chips for a home game

hey guys. im gonna be setting up my own home game. its for drinking and fun not serious poker but i am gonna buy nice stuff. what kind of good chips do u all recommend? thanks.

Well, a budget would help. A good set of Paulsons can cost well in excess of $1 per chip. If you want good stuff I'd start there.

For a fraction of that cost you could go with standard "dice" style chips with some kind of gold stamp, which discourages people bringing in chips from elsewhere.

Let's say we are looking for 1000 chips. The best chips are going to cost around $1000, for example Paulson's. The cheapest are going to be $30-$40 and are going feel like they cost that.

For me, a good bang for your buck chip is the Nexgen chip. There are a couple of styles that are close in price but you can generally find 1000 chips and case for $150-$250.

o ya i forgot a budget. i would say no more than $700

For just the chips? or everything includ. other stuff?

What are "nice" chips to you? How many players? Tourney and cash, or just one type?

one table, cash game, nice chips are the non-dice chips, maybe clay but i know they tend to run more expensive
