500kB avatars are not permitted. I'll help you fix it when I get home if you want, but try to bring it below 200kB. Shockingly enough, some people read 2+2 on dial-up.

actually i tried reading a few weeks back on dial-up...

it was the only time the 99/99 format sucked and wish i was back at the default

iron,

There was a time earlier this year when I had to log on from home on dial-up because of an issue with my high-speed connection. I assure you I most certainly turned avatars off, else the pages would take forever to load. Especially threads started by Anacardo and/or involving Blarg.

Right, but your average noob isn't likely to know about blocking avatars. If they can't load the site, their likely response is to just not come back.

Or on pdas, but by the time it takes me to scroll through the Bible-like lefthand column all the images have loaded so it kind of sum-zeros itself out imo.

my policy is, if posting an image would cause a thread to be NSFW, then using that avatar equates to making every thread NSFW, which is not ok

as far as i'm concerned boobie avatars ended when PITTM and amplify got rid of theirs. it's over. now it's like, banjos or something.

yeah, no one's every really topped theirs. i always think of those two as the classic boob avatars.

how did the ukulele thing start, anyway?
