What to do in Paris
A friend of mine and I (both 23 years old) are going to Paris in a month or so and I just wanted to try to get some recommendations as to what we should see/do when we're there.
We're definitely going to Centre Pompidou and Musée d'Orsay, but besides that we really don't have anything planned. All the super touristy stuff like The Eiffel Tower, Montmartre, Pere-Lachaise, and Louvre is not in our plans since both of us have already seen most of it, and this time we're just going to have a relaxing vacation, instead of rushing around trying to see everything. So, do any of you guys and girls have any must-see stuff in Paris, any places to go to listen to music(rock kinda music is preferred, but anything goes really)? Any recommendations is very welcome |

Re: What to do in Paris
I'm studying abroad in Paris in the fall, so I'm interested in this too. I think the Latin Quarter is your best bet for the student/music scene. Not sure about rock, but there should be plenty of dance clubs or jazz clubs in that area.
If you're into poker, you probably know about the Aviation Club. It's on the Champs-Élysées, a few blocks down from the Arc De Triomphe. You'll need to wear formal clothes (no sneakers/jeans/t-shirts) and bring your passport, but it's a beautiful casino. The game selection is moderate, and you may have to wait for a while if you go during a busy time. If you've never been to Versailles, you can take the RER out to the chateau. You could easily make an entire day out of it. I'm looking forward to hearing more advice from others. |

Eat.. that's all I want to do when i'm there.
Find a brasserie or bistro in a nice part of town to watch people (Latin Quarter/Gay area/etc), order a bottle of bordeaux/sancerre/chablis/etc and a nice slab of foi gras and watch it all go by. |

Re: What to do in Paris
Take a afternoon in Montemarte, drink some wine, walk around wasted and eat some Crêpes. Foie Gras is also terrific there.
Obviously the Louvre, I spent all day afternoon until close there and still didnt see it all. I strongly recommend the audio guide if you dont know too much about art and even if you do. Do make it out to Versailles, it is an all day thing but definitely worth it. There is nothing quite on that scale anywhere. The Aviation Club on the Champs Elyeese is a must as well, it isnt a very big card room but it is definitely the most famous in Europe |

I would also just recommend spending time in the little cafes you run into on the way. The most fun I had there was the afternoon/night we would just cafe hop, drink and bs.
Sorry I didnt read all of the op so I put in some info that didnt belong !! |
