EDIT: your title, "Fun w/Flush Draw" is a misnomer, unless your idea of 'fun' is losing 3 big bets rather than taking down an easy pot...

[/ QUOTE ]

Nice results oriented statement.

You realize that winning pots is irrelevant to playing winning poker, right?

I fail to see anyone but UTG playing winning poker in this hand...

His turn raise isn't good, but who am I to question your claims to failure?

You may want to look again before you put your foot further in your mouth.

He just wanted a free showdown and didn't believe you had a Q. Whether it was smart really depends on his read. He obviously knew HJ had no Q.

Are you 3 betting this flop when you get raised? Alot of times, the PFR will raise it, get it HU, then call you down if you donk the turn.

[/ QUOTE ]

I'm not 3-betting here, nor am I donking the turn...

UTG was on to you from the start. He's obviously seen enough of you to accurately put you on a spade draw with the c/r (since so many consider this a "standard" play). Put yourself in his position for a moment: SB leads the flop, leads the turn, and you think he calls down or gets tricky with a player yet to act behind him? I'll bet you take down a pot uncontested much of the time. So much, in fact, that I think you must bet the flop in these situations...

blackasthma has been given a warning, and it's something that needs to go for a lot of people. There's been a rash of new posters this summer, a lot of you failing to make positive contributions -- sticking instead to questionable poker strategy cloaked in condescension, sarcasm, and trollish insults. So consider this a forum-wide reminder:

We like to keep a collegial spirit of intelligent poker discussion, especially in Medium Stakes. Please try to keep your posts understanding and constructive. And it always pays to listen more often and speak less, as a general rule.

Thanks,
-joker
