this link was one of the first in a google search.

funny quote:

"Understanding mechanisms behind changes in beer tastes is important because the world beer industry is hoping to save money by storing, shipping and selling beer in less expensive clear glass," Forbes said. "Producers of Miller Genuine Draft, for example, already do that by adding a chemically modified hop compound to the beer. We have found evidence that Miller beer is still photochemically active, but it doesn’t make the same free radicals, and so those can’t lead to bad-tasting skunky thiols as quickly."

Corona beer also is sold in clear bottles, but manufacturers do not used a modified hop product, he said. Instead, they usually keep their bottles boxed to exclude light and encourage drinkers to add a slice of lime to improve the odor.

I didn't even know Yuengling came in green bottles. That seems wrong. No dark beer should ever come in a green bottle.

I don't really care for Dos Equis much, either. And someone, probably MrWookie because he's the noted beer connoisseur, called Stella the Grey Goose of beers. Soooo... I'm not really sold on anything besides PU.

[/ QUOTE ]

First off, how can you not like Dos Equis?

Second off, I always think of you when I see that "most interesting dude" dos equis commercial. Does anyone else think Nath is like that?

This goes for clear bottles as well, and is why Corona is horrible.

[/ QUOTE ]
Hence using a lime in a Corona so it changes the taste.

Anyone try Sol? I drank a ton of it over the summer. It's now one of my favorite beers.

Hey beer snobs dogging on bud light, let's say you were to recommend some watery American light beer. What would you go with? Obv not bud light, miller light? coors light?

I'm curious as to what you think.

Does not compute . I might give you something to try that's a little different than these, but that you might still enjoy. Try a bottle of a Saison. I don't know where you're from, but Ommegang's Hennepin (NY), Southamption's Saison (NY), and Flying Dog's Wild Dog (CA) are all good. They pack about twice the alcohol of a watery American light beer and taste better without being too sweet, heavy, or dark. The three I listed all come in brown bottles, though.

DDY,

Brooklyn lager, if you can get it. Great Lakes Dortmunder Gold, if you can get it. Those are great lagers, so they're light on the palate, and while their flavor is great, it's also subtle.

Wookie,

The folks at Flying Dog would be pretty upset if you labeled them as nutty Californians.

Those sound like great choices, but I mean light as in 100 calories. Not necessarily light tasting.

Unless your suggestions are light on the calorie side as well, in which case I will try them.

RDH, I have had brooklyn lager. Great stuff. Tough to get down here though.
