From my experience w/ Kurosh he plays very poorly. He may have been tilted or something, but his pushes were all in spots that he was obv getting a call and he was flipping weak hands.

The main situation in which I hate good shortstacks is when I'm facing a button open from the small blind with a shortstack in the big blind. I feel I have to either play less profitably versus the button or less profitably versus the shortstack. Versus people who steal very light I rarely flatcall from the SB but with a shorty in the BB I will more frequently flatcall and also occasionally with big hands to deter the shorties from squeezing light. Is this a good adjustment or am I better off just 3-betting a tighter range?

I think the most important thing vs a shortstack is to steal their blind 100% of the time. You can raise less than 3bb and they still fold like 85% of their hands. If you're in the sb and have a shortstacker in the bb I think your pfr should be 100% when the hand is folded around to you preflop.

Those who are playing in the stars high stakes games where shortstacking seems to be a common practice, try getting a hold of a datamined database and look at shorty opening ranges and shoving ranges vs. different people. Do some math, profit.

i found getting into donkaments and running lots of pokerstove sims and making spreadhseets of them helped vs sub-50 bb stacks
