$16: Raising & c-betting late
PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t200 (5 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)
BB (t5000) UTG (t1435) MP (t800) Button (t3275) Hero (t2990) Preflop: Hero is SB with K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. 3 folds, Hero raises to t500, BB calls t300. This feels like a serious leak for me, but I honestly don't know how I should approach it. Fold, complete/fold, complete/call, raise/check? I believe that villain seemed a little loose, but not a maniac. Thoughts? |

Re: $16: Raising & c-betting late
in bvb situtaions i like to raise it up to 3x the bb when i'm going to raise it. i think in this situation, with the current stack sizes, i'm going to complete/fold, which might be a little conservative, but we really don't want to be losing 1100 chips when we should be coasting ITM given the current situation.

Re: $16: Raising & c-betting late
It depends on how often he is calling pf. If he is calling almost always, I like completing. Otherwise, it looks good.

Re: $16: Raising & c-betting late
with deep stacks, I like just completing here. You don't really want to go to 600 pre, get called, c-bet for 600 on the flop, get called and have to shut down w/ a little less than 50% of your chips in the middle. I play pretty nitty in this spot, especially when you have healthy chips.

i often just complete or fold preflop, im a nit [/ QUOTE ] plus it puts you in awkward positions postflop if you miss (2/3rd of the time). |

[/ QUOTE ] in a $16 with these stack setups, i would usually complete, and just open fold vs someone whose likely to rape our limp. In a 60 where i know the players, i'd play it differently. |

[/ QUOTE ] wow echo, i cant think of one player that would make me fold KJ in this spot. even good players just raise you to 600, and calling 400 vs a guy raising ATC is fine, just hope to hit a flop and CR him. |

[/ QUOTE ] Eh, lots of the time he'll just make it 800. I mean i'd usually complete but sometimes fold. I don't really like raising preflop tho since with stacksizes hes going shove on us too often, and even if he doesn't he prob calls preflop too much since hes a bigstack and they don't like folding. I just like keeping our stack position until one of the shorties gets more chips |
