Default I\'m having poker nightmares!

Dammit! I keep waking up in the middle of the night on the floor screaming Diamond Jack! This hand is bleh, but I spaced it out on the river and sincerely request your
assessment.

CAZ 20/40

Villain is bad, waaay too loose preflop, likes to raise and cold call in equal measure. Slightly better postflop (which just means he's still loose but able to fold on occasion).

I raise A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] in MP, villain cold calls on the
button, big blind calls.

Flop: A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
I bet, villain raises, big blind folds, I call.

Turn: Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
I check/raise, villain 3bets, I 4bet, villain calls.

River: J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
I bet, villain raises, I...

Raise for value.

His play doesn't look like KT or diamonds. If he has 45 then it's just not your day.

3-bet the flop and lead the turn. Hand plays differently from there.

I think I just call here. Did he have the option to raise you more on the turn or was it capped? Not sure it matters though.

I'm not great at situations like this... but I think I just call here.
At the same token... and more importantly I think, I usually avoid this by firing this flop with umpteen bets and bet the turn. It certainly makes the hand easier to play here.

I have the same question. And think it does matter.

Most of the time I wouldve played this the same way you did.

I just call the river raise against a bad LAG. I have experienced Villans play alot lately against bad LAG players.

Flop smells like a diamond draw for villain and he wanted to get a free river. Turn he hit a queen so he bet and river he flushes.

Well, I considered this, but I thought I could get more bets out of him if I waited til the turn to check/raise.

PJ says the hand plays differently if I jam the flop. BW says it makes the hand easier to play and I can avoid the river problem. I guess I don't see how this plays much differently either way. I'm putting in the last bet on the turn and betting the river regardless, right?

I don't even know about the cap limit in that situation. Maybe Howard B. or Hass can fill us in. My guess is that villain doesn't know either, and just considered my 4bet a cap.
