Starting Hand Chart v2.0 (In Progress Update)
Here is the version as of right now. I haven't worked on a blinds section yet, and I'm still not sure whether or not I will. Changes from the original chart include:
-No open limping -A little more liberal with steal raises -3 betting standards were tightened slightly in a couple spots -Small pair play slightly changed -A few other minor changes here and there Thoughts? |

Now this is going to be a useful starting place for me. Interested in hearing everyone's thoughts on the choices.
Thanks. |

Re: Starting Hand Chart v2.0 (In Progress Update)
This looks better than the old one. A couple of things:
Does anyone else raise KTo in MP? I think raising <A8o in CO is a little bit of a stretch. My cut off for auto raise is A7o, anything lower and it becomes player dependant. I think it's very hard to make any kind of table on how to play against a raise because it's so player dependant. There are players you can muck AQ against and players you can 3 bet with A9o. |

Re: Starting Hand Chart v2.0 (In Progress Update)
Looks like the "1-2 limpers, button" column needs some work. E.g. it has you limping J8s but folding Q9s.
FWIW, I would raise KTs/QTs/JTs+ and overlimp K7s/Q8s/J8s/T8s/98s+. Lost Wages |

Re: Starting Hand Chart v2.0 (In Progress Update)
Thanks MEbenhoe, the first verison of your chart was very helpful for me in the beginning and I can manage without a chart now... most of the time.
I don't have any hands to add or remove but I recently started thinking about 3-betting/capping standards. The way this chart is organized the only capping situation mentioned is capping with the standard premium hands when facing a 3-bet in CO or on the button. How about some discussion about how to play a hand I open raise and a TAG, or anyone else you suspect is paying attention, that has position on me 3-bets? What I'm doing now, and most/all of the other low-limit TAGs I've seen, feels incredibly transparent, raising light => call and not so light => cap. So, how do you more experienced players at higher limits handle this? CAP out of position with more hands because they have noticed that you "only" cap with premium hands? Or call the 3-bet even if you have a premium hand? Or as simple as a mix of both? I'm starting to really hate being out of position... but I guess that is a good sign. |
