If you`re a skilled player, why do Turbo tourneys/SNGs?
They say that the longer the blind rounds the more skill is involved in a tournament. So if you`re a skilled tournament player, why would you want to play a turbo tournament? Just so it takes less time? You`re good at playing a fast, lots of all-ins preflop style of play? It seems these are popular with some players and I was interested why.

Higher winrate/hr. Only reason skilled players play them. They can play more games much quicker than regular length SnGs.
Poor players, however, just play them cause they're impatient. |

I do significantly better in the HU SNGs than in the normal ones. I think a lot of my advantage comes from being able to adjust to the blinds better than most players.
The turbos also make massing games quite a bit easier. I played 71 games today (all turbo). There is no way I could have played that many of the normal ones. The turbos also offer "more bang for you buck" as far as buy in goes. |

SNGs are the place where the best players play turbos. Since SNG strategy is all about playing tight early, then accurately assessing push/call ranges late and going pushbot, the best players play turbos to increase hourly rate.
