Default 27 TD: forcing a break and/or snowing -- creative or insane?

4-handed 10/20 2-7 TD hand at UB

hero and villain have played together for only 10 minutes, during which both have been tight-aggressive in betting and done nothing unusual when drawing

utg folds, hero raises on the button with 832, villian calls in the SB, and BB folds

both draw 2, and hero makes 88732

villain bets, hero raises, villain 3-bets, and hero caps

both stand pat

villain bets, hero raises

My experience at 10-20 is limited to only about 25 hours of play or so but I really dont understand this hand at all.. While you very well may force a break theres no need to. Not only do you have a great draw at a 87 but if you feel villain has that beat theres absolutely no point in trying to force break as anyone at that level should understand that your better off folding than breaking 86 or better. In this situation I dont think anyone would fold an 86 as well. Secondly if villain does have the nut 87 beat than you have 2 draws to beat him and a great draw to do so. The only good thing this hand would accomplish is for metagame purposes, but thats a pretty expensive way to get extra action. Interested in what happend with this one.

I'm going to go with insane. I'd just call the flop bet, draw one if he draws and two if he doesn't. By raising you've gained little information and made the pot so big you have to make a significant decision on whether to draw to the 8 or go for the longshot 7. It's a lot easier to take the possible pot equity hit of drawing to the 7 when there are only 3BB in.

Yeah, I thought hero was totally insane, but he seemed to think it was reasonable...

The conclusion was amusing though. Villain called and drew 1, then hero drew 1 as well. Villain checked river, hero made an 8 and bet, and then villain called with 95432?!?!?!
