Default Goodbye forums!

Goodbye, forums. This is my last post on 2+2. Ed and I are deleting my accounting and putting an IP block on our router so I'm not tempted to post any more.

Here are my reasons for leaving:
I waste a lot of time on OOT when I could be productive. I get into heated arguments and it's just not healthy for me.

Moreover, reading discussions about killing kittens ( http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showfl...rt=all&vc=1 ) or a horse having sex with a man ( http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showfl...rt=all&vc=1 )isn't good for my psyche.

I'm angered by my OOT exile because it was at whim. Censored hates me and just decided to get rid of me. He did it in an unfair manner.

He took a vote on who gets banned but he didn't include an option for "none of the above" or "stop this nonsense and only ban people when they break the rules." He made a quick decision on a holiday weekend.

Given that OOT is busiest on weekdays, while people are at work, taking a poll during a holiday weekend and then making HUGE decisions based on that poll is ridiculous.

I deserve to be punished sometimes for things I say. I know I can be inflammatory. I know I can be mean. I'm not arguing that I that I don't deserve to be banned. I'm arguing that the process was unfair. The process is reflective of the general chaos and negativity that is OOT.

These are my itemized complaints with OOT:
1. Too much porn and sex
2. Aggression, violence, and hostility towards each other, towards women, towards children, towards animals
3. Discussion of illegal activity including: underage drinking and gaming, tax evasion, theft, and more
4. Nuisance
5. Adult subject matter (without any warning or reference to that fact in the Terms of Service or during forum sign-up)

Some examples of 1:

Some examples of 3:

Some examples of 4:
http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showfl...rt=all&vc=1

All of the above are obviously examples of 5.

All examples were part of last week’s online discussion on 2+2, that is, this is ONE WEEK’S worth of samples.

My last complaint is that OOT doesn't follow the terms of service for 2+2, specifically: "While using 2+2 website, you may not post or transmit any unlawful, threatening, abusive, libelous, defamatory, obscene, pornographic, profane, or otherwise objectionable information of any kind; including without limitation any transmissions constituting or encouraging conduct that would constitute a criminal offense, give rise to civil liability, or otherwise violate any local, state, national or international laws."

Goodbye.

Elaine -

I hope that Ed or LOL passes along to you that I'm sorry OOT treated you as they did.

I was really bothered by the pack-mentality there.

I think you are doing the right thing for yourself to avoid such stress and meanness.

I don't blame you for leaving at all and wish you well.

I have yet to meet you or NPA but would look forward to the opportunity if I ever get out to LV again.

This is like joining the KKK and then getting mad when they burn a cross.

Look before you leap.

Yes, it did occur to me that this thread would be yet another opportunity for 2+2'ers to be unnecessarily mean.

Why not give it a rest already?
