Default Comm 40: Does this guy just hate money?

OK game last night; there were only around 3 tables running by 9 p.m. for some reason. I'm in the CO and open with KK. I'm called by the BB. He's a Commerce regular, quiet, solid and somewhat weak-tight, and I think he respects my play.

Flop: K65 one club

He checks, I bet, he quickly calls.

Turn: Ac

He bets, I raise, he thinks a moment and 3-bets. I 4-bet, he insta-5-bets (he took a stack out of the rack and peeled off the top 4 chips). I say "wow" and 6-bet, he insta-7-bets.

What's my optimal play now? He has maybe $500-600 in chips/cash in front of him (I started the hand with 2 racks).

I agree possibly one bet too many just based on your read of him. A quiet, solid, regular that plays a little too weak doesn't usually 5 bet anything but the nuts on the turn.

I'd probably call the 5 bet and call the river, although I suppose 6-betting and calling the 7th isn't that bad, but I definitely wouldn't go any farther - AA makes a lot of sense for him to play this way - even non-tricky players will sometimes smooth-call AA PF when it's heads-up and he's closing the action.

Would quiet, solid, weak-tight go 7 bets with the 3rd nuts? Either he has you beat or your view of him is in error.

Yes, this guy just does hate money. Problem is, you are this guy.

Sucks, but good luck on that 1-outer.

if he has 66, he has to really think you are dumb to have AK or 55 here and go that far with it

Eh, this ended up being a stupid post. I was actually BB and had the Aces. In the actual hand, CO just called down from the 7-bet. Someone at the table opened their big mouth and said "Oooh, I know what *HE* (me) has!!!!" as CO was contemplating re-raising, and I was pretty pissed off that I didn't get any more action.

This thread wasn't completely useless to me, however: I had AA last night on an AQ3 board and went 6 bets on the turn against a maniac who ended up turning quad 3's. I considered putting in a 7th, but decided to err on the side of caution thanks to the advice of you guys.
