Default Uber-LAG short stack: please help with the maths

Lately, I have noticed that there are far more LAGS than fish online. And I don't mean a little loose or a little aggressive. At 6 max nl 1/2 I think you are more likely to find a table with a 45/26/5.00 guy (or two) than a 50/4/.075 guy (or two).

The advantage these guys have against a TAG is that they are more willing to play for their whole stack light (or at least give the appearance of same) and a good one will immediately put on the brakes when you play back.

For the last few weeks I have been experimenting with short stacking against these guys and attempting to decipher their range, and play for my stack at a slightly tighter range (preferably with the blinds and a limper's cash as an overlay) It seems to be working, but I'm math challenged and can't wrap my brain around if what I'm doing is mathematically insane or not.

To clarify, I'm not talking about shortstacking the Miller way. I'm talking about deliberately seeking out situations that should be somewhat EV (plus the overlay) IF I have properly determined LAGGY villians' hand range.

It sorta feels like bubble play, but I'm not looking to steal blinds. I'm looking for confrontations with over-looseness.

Can anyone help with the math and theory? Am I wasting my time, or gambooling? Any comments would be appreciated.

I can tell you this. Its fun as hell.
