Re: Possibly the dumbest customer service rep ever
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] You realize they had to take the receipt to Kinko's to copy it first, right? And I'm sure that meeting of the minds is what is delaying the arrival of your fax. [/ QUOTE ] They have a copy machine, the restaurant is connected to a hotel...basically glorified room service [/ QUOTE ] Well, they may have a copy machine, but that doesn't mean they know how to use it. That is where the need for the pros at Kinko's comes in. And yes, I hate Kinko's. I hate them alot. 8+ years of my life I am not getting back. [censored] you Kinko's, [censored] you.[/end hatred of former employer] |

Re: Possibly the dumbest customer service rep ever
I go to Walgreens to pick up some items (drugstore).
Total comes out to $4.18. I hand the lady a $20. She takes a solid minute to get the bills right. This is a pretty trivial task that a cashier should be decent at and 60 seconds is a long, agonizing time to watch this brain child in action. I tell her, "it's $15.82." This helps her slightly as she gets the $10, but goes to the $1's section of her drawer when there are clearly $5's. I tell her "a $10 and a $5 will do just fine thank you." She obliges. Now for the tough part... the change. She goes first to her quarters partition in her register and pulls out 4 shiny quarters. Now, in my circle of friends I'm known for having lapses in common sense but it's pretty standard to realize that giving anyone back more than $1 in change defeats the purpose of change. This transaction is taking way too long and instead of correcting her mistake, I take my $16.23 and leave. |

Re: Possibly the dumbest customer service rep ever
[ QUOTE ]
This week, I traveled out-of-the province for work. I got back today and I'm going through my receipts when I realized one was missing. So I call up the restaurant at about 11AM EST and let them know 'hey, I need a receipt for this meal on Wednesday, to room XYZ, can you fax it to this number'. They say sure, sure, no problem. Two hours later I still haven't received it, so I called them up again: GW- "Did you find the receipt? Waitress- "Yea, we found it" GW- "So...are you going to send it?" Waitress- "Well, I'm having trouble faxing it." GW- "What do you mean?" Waitress- "The receipt is so small. It won't go through the fax machine." GW- "...um maybe you could just photocopy it and send that?" Waitress- "........ok, I'll try that" Still waiting. [/ QUOTE ] Nowhere in your story does she even ask "what is a fax?" I'd say she's running above average right now. |

Re: Possibly the dumbest customer service rep ever
If she were smarter, your tuna sammich would've cost more.
We have magical machines that can do math like 20-4.18 so we can pay less educated imbeciles to punch buttons and keep expenses down. Otherwise if we required employees who could do this type of math in their head, they'd demand higher wages. |
