Default Winning in Tough Hold \'em Games

Hi Everyone:

For those interested, we're moving along on our new book Winning in Tough Hold 'em Games: Short-Handed and High-Stakes Concepts and Theory for Limit Hold 'em by Nick "Stoxtrader" Grudzien and Geoff "Zobags" Herzog and should meet our April 1 target date. It's now available for preorder. Just go to our opening page and scroll down a little bit.

Best wishes,
Mason

I've already pre-ordered through Amazon. I think I'm more excited about this book than any other book I have ever heard about. (Very close toss up with the Dave Fromm/Ray Zee book).

Mason,

Do you have any intial semi-un-biased thoughts after reading through the manuscript that you would like to share with us?

I'm looking forward to getting the book, but I have a question. I think everyone deep inside would like to know how to beat really tough games, but it begs the question. Why would anyone play in tough games to begin with? I can think of some valid answers but I'd like know to hear your answer.

jeffnc,

Because when you move out of the kiddie stakes you have a lot less choice. You basically need to be able to beat tough games to move up. I think a lot of 10/20+ games online are classed as "tough games". At least, I'm quite sure this book will apply to those games.

Knowing how to beat tough games does not imply we think you should play in them when there are alternatives.

One could also make the arguement that learning the skills to beat tough games might increase your winrate in easier games.

Actually, this book is going to be useless to anyone not playing in 200/400+ so just save your money and don't bother buying it. Really, it won't be worth reading.

Some of the lower limit prop games play pretty tough, I know Zobags has experience of prop games.
