I also think you make a good case for taking your shots along the right edge, where the odds of nailing a bomb are pretty low.

chuckles is right that if you click next to the top 5 and it's open the puzzle may work itself out, but it's a 50/50 shot and clicking somewhere on the right edge may be better than 50/50.

the risk vs info factor I think is best in the square to the right of the upper 5
