This is soooo dependant on game selection. Also as others have said, not everyone capable of beating 5/10 is active at the same time. Some take extended breaks, other follow different paths in life etc. I would think there are definitely more than 1000 people who can beat 5/10 without being really nitpicky about gameselection.

The real bottleneck is 10/20 I think, not that many regulars and alot of them play across different sites

I think that theres something wrong with anybody who puts in 50k+ hands at 2/4 while winning at that rate.

Hi. I'm one of the 4pt guys at 2/4, over a big sample(like embarrassingly big). Def something wrong with me, I don't look higher for big fish. I have Spadeye and never use it. My results of late at 3/6 are extremely good, yet I keep on choosing 2/4 as my main game. I'm overrolled even for 5/10 with just the money I keep on the sites.

Its some combination of having a fear of failure, having a fear of testing myself and finding out exactly where I'm not smart enough to succeed. I will look at the people playing 3/6+, look at their stats and be intimated. But as soon as I sit I realize just how bad some of these guys are, and feel very comfortable. But even after playing, winning and outplaying people I don't really want to keep playing at the higher level. I'm just too comfortable at 2/4 where no swing can fade me, and I'm happy for whatever reason knowing that I'm playing against opponents that are rarely tough. Also I'm older so fear of going broke is more real for me than if I was 19, only I take it too far.

I would like to be playing higher, mostly know what my problems are, yet don't make it a priority to do so.

It's hard to assign a number of people who could beat 5/10, a percentage seems better. But even then it's kind of hard to say. I'd say most $400nl players could not currently beat $5/10 for over 1ptbb. If they could, they probably already would have at this point. That's not always the case at all, but the majority of the time it is. There are some people who beat $400nl for 2-3ptbb and don't think that moving up to $1knl would be worth it at a diminished winrate with exponentially greater swings, not just in terms of dollar amounts but buyins as well since %1knl is more aggressive in general.

I forgot who made the post, but it was somebody who chooses to play $2/4 instead of playing higher despite being ridiculously overrolled. He said something like for him it was more worthwhile to play $2/4 than move up because he can mindlessly grind and win at a consistent rate and the swings don't bother him. Where as if he played higher his winrate would diminish, swings would increase, and there would be more downswings and prolonged breakeven stretches which leads to playing less hands and not playing as well.

I'd say 3-5000.

[/ QUOTE ]
Are you saying right now? Or people who if they got coached etc.. have the ability to? Because honestly given the current conditions of the games there is no way their are 5000 people can beat 5/10

[/ QUOTE ]

what? Are we talking about 1pt/bb winners too?

Id go ahead and say there are 1000 people who can beat it for 3pt/bb +
