Default Bottom Two w 4 to straight on turn

at work, no HH.

FT 25NL- eff. stacks $10. villain is shorty obvs.

villain (BB) laptard type with stats of 38/9/1. don't have much of a read on him beyond his trinity stats.

im running 17/14/2 and my only image is probably that i always cbet, other players have played back at me recently.

im in CO and open raise 78s to .85. only BB calls.

Flop: 789r

BB checks, i bet 1.9 and villain calls with ~$7 left behind.

Turn: T, completing rainbow. Villain checks...Hero?

I feel this is a bad card for me but then again, villain is terrible (calls too much) and the T only completed the idiot end of the straight. Despite this, i think an check is in order because i probably only get called by better hand and fold out worse etc. i know this is measly but was an awkward spot for me nonetheless.
