Hollywood Aurora has tolerable mid-stakes limit play for a small room with massive waiting lists. Resorts East Chicago IN mid-stakes (10/20, 20/40)and sometimes higher, is jacked up, bigger room, beeper pagers etc. Its a good 1 hour 20 from Aurora during the best case traffic scenario, that is otherwise horrible.

Majestic Star a few miles away from Resorts in Gary IN has one of the best rooms with 21 tables in the Chicagoland area, great staff imo, but, zip 10/20 or 20/40 LHE. My personal fav for NL cash/tourneys.

The Pottawotami in Milwaukee? Defer to other posters on Limit action. Have only played NL there. Nice place, but no opinion on LHE. And, it is a good 2 hours each way from Aurora. Nearby Elgin Grand Victoria is slot donk heaven - zip poker. Same for Harrahs a little farther south in Joliet. Empress Joliet - I have given up on their poker. I can never depend on the vy small room being open. Harrah's Horseshoe in Hammond IN is a little closer to you than Resorts or Majestic Star, but you will have to wait until after they complete their expansion sometime in 2008 for poker.

Oh, BTW, IL is going no smoking, casinos included as of Jan 1 2008. Don't know if this matters to you or not, but, if you enjoy a smoke during poker room (already non smoking obv)breaks at Hollywood, you will now be herded off to a fancy bus-stop like structure, outside, exposed to the elements. Don't know what type of climate you are used to, but, around mid-Feb, Chicago weather at 20 below wind-chill is -EV on the body, I don't care how many freakin propane heaters they put out there.

So, for me, IN>WI>IL

chijoe, think the cardclubs site needs a little update...didn't Hollywood just open a 2/5 500 max NL game; and, haven't seen 10/20, 20/40 LHE at MSII for seems like ages

I heard that there is a casino in Gary Indiana that has a fairly good poker room, and that they even host HPT (Heartland Poker Tour) events there on a regular basis.
