Default Top 2 gets C/R\'d on wet board. Best line?

Villain is solid TAG. I'm also playing TAGish.

I was really tempted to 3-bomb the flop...but against a solid player I think I'm always shown 555 or a big draw if the $$$ goes in. I was planning on bombing a blank turn but couldn't decide if the A was indeed, a blank.

Do I need to bet the turn here? What if he CRAI?

i think the flop line was pretty good. the turn line you took meant that you will have to fold alot of rivers, which is ok i spose.

i doubt he is on a draw, most people on draws would bet the ace as it is the biggest scarecard. so on the turn, i think he has demonstrated that he is ahead. 2 pair, set, broadway might all try and c/r the turn, the flush draw would bet it.

now i have thought about his turn line, in theory you should fold the river, although it is hard to do, especially when multitabling in the heat of battle.

not sure how you have come to this conclusion. wouldn't a made hand want to protect/get value on the turn.

i just mean that you are giving him a freecard, and you will have to fold to any club or 7.

my 1st instinct was to bet the turn, but that ace is a horrible card, as it puts alot of his flop raising range ahead of us now, and provides an opportunity for him to bluff, which he didn't take, which is a bt suspicious imo.

Alot of his check-raising range got there on the turn (KQ or AJ) making checking behind on the turn a good play for pot control and to give yourself leverage/money-behind if another J or 10 hits. Plus, if a 8 hits, there isn't much nothing you can beat (only a busted flush draw), so you don't have to pay off a big bet, meaning you don't mind giving a free card to 910 on the turn - and all the other hands that you beat are drawing very thin (KJ etc.) so a free card will hurt you very little.

flop play is fine... you HAVE TO bet turn if he checks to you... if he has 555 he would def bet the turn with such a heavy draw board... by checking he's either has AJ KJ, Axcc... the way you played it you have to raise river
