Default Strategy adjustments in PLO

Question for all you big players. I'm playing a weekly live 50c/$1 blinds dealers choice game. The most common game is PLO even though PLO8, NLHE and a couple of obscure other games are also played. And like everyone else I consider myself knowing the game(s) better than most of my opponents. However to optimize results I'd like to get some input on the strategy here. The game is super live. Raises will rarely change the size of the field. You will have 3-5 opponents in every hand regardless of what you do pre flop. And $200+ pots are quite common. Do I actually have any reason to build big pots pre flop when I have massive starting hands even though I know I can build big pots post flop when I hit the nuts or massive draws? And should I play anything but big starting hands at all or just be one more nut peddler??

Raise more in position, especially if stacks are deep. Choose PLO8b for your choice.

OP; i can't recall seeing you at my DC game? oh hang on thats £0.5/1... sounds just like mine tho, 5 handed to the flop etc

For lowest variance plus huge edge choose plo8 as dave said

Or for mad moves and positional edge, choose 2-7triple draw!

Now that makes for a fun game with gamblers
happy hunting

if you're actually good at poker and games, just pick the most obscure variety with the weirdest rules and the biggest potential for large pots. a game like Guts, for example, is always extremely profitable for any player who actually bothers to figure out the best strategies.
