Least baller thing you regularly do?
Hey guys, I think this would make an interesting thread. We all know pretty baller things that people do, such as buy $10k espresso machines or tip 20% of the bill at dinner. How about not baller things?
I'll start it off. When I go out to places, I always bring a knapsack/backpack with me. Inside this backpack can be found a 750ml plastic bottle filled with tap water. This has multiple uses, none of them baller: a) At a restaurant that serves bottled water, I can go unthirsty without ordering overpriced branded water b) At a fast food restaurant such as McDonald's, I can save money by ordering a burger and a small fries, instead of the value meal. The burger and small fries is cheaper than a value meal! The reason I get a small fries is because I cannot finish a medium fries. c) When strolling along the street and I get thirsty, instead of going to a convenience store and buying a bottle of some drink, I can satisfy my liquid desires with my own water bottle d) At a Cinema or Movie Theater or Stadium I can drink this water instead of the overpriced stuff inside. I have a hidden pocket in my backpack that is not usually searched by the guards, if I open the main zipper for them to see So that's me. What's your least baller thing? |

Re: Least baller thing you regularly do?
When I go to Taco Bell I order all my stuff, get to the window, pay and get my food. Then I say, "oh, I forgot, can I get some sour cream and quacamole?" The person almost always pauses, shrugs, and goes back to get it. Saves me like $1.50 or whatever.

The creation of this thread is probably less baller than at least 55% of the responses that will follow.

Re: Least baller thing you regularly do?
Here's something I don't do anymore but I regularly did back in college when I was a broke mofo. The University of Miami food court had 3 or 4 restaurants under one roof, with a couple of soda fountains between them. You would buy a soft drink at the counter, they would give you a cup, then you would fill that cup at the self-serve fountain. I would just buy a cup once, use it, then wash it out and stash it in my backpack to re-use the next day.
But that's not really "un-baller," it's just stealing. So in a similar vein, I download MP3s illegally instead of buying the CD for $15. |

Re: Least baller thing you regularly do?
Avoid eating meals until I go play poker, because I get free food there. Obsess over whether I'm getting the best deals on pot, which would equate to +/- $10. I feel nervous when I go to the grocery store, or Best Buy, even though it has a tiny impact on my roll. God, I'm a nit.

I've walked into movie theaters with up to a sack of McDonald's in my hand, never had anyone say anything. |

Re: Least baller thing you regularly do?
i don't have a car and i'm not planning to ever get one either.
i don't need one to get around because i live right at the center of a medium-sized city, and i'm not really comfortable with the idea of steering around a multi-ton pile of scrap metal at 100 mph. also, i'm probably exactly the type that would go driving drunk and run over some kid and then there's the environmentalist hippie bs, and obviously taxes. |
