Default 99 re-steal

Full Tilt Poker
Limit Holdem Ring game
Limit: $1/$2
8 players
Converter

Pre-flop: (8 players) Hero is SB with 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
3 folds, <font color="#cc0000">MP2 raises</font>, 2 folds, <font color="#cc0000">Hero 3-bets</font>, BB folds, MP2 calls.

He was unknown, but i figured since he's on the HJ his range would be wider. I 3 bet and off we go.

Flop: 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (6SB, 2 players)
<font color="#cc0000">Hero bets</font>, <font color="#cc0000">MP2 raises</font>, Hero calls.

88 might play this way (he might even have 44-66), A7, getting bold with AK, AQ, or overs + fd.

Turn: 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (5BB, 2 players)
Hero checks, <font color="#cc0000">MP2 bets</font>, Hero calls.

River: 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (7BB, 2 players)
Hero checks, <font color="#cc0000">MP2 bets</font>, Hero calls.

I dunno what i beat on the river when he bets, A7 maybe from the range i was hoping he'd have, but i call anyway since he's unknown and i have overpair.

Yeah, this is exactly how I play this also. I go into WA/WB mode after the flop agression. Would be unfortunate if you ran into a set

I thnk this is OK. I do think there are several more hands in his range that beat you that you didn't list. TT, JJ maybe even QQ? Also 99 chop. Some don't cap with KK or AA here either.

I would c/r the turn if pf had been different.

how would a different preflop made you want to c/r turn? what are you wanting to be different?

I think the range is wider. Villain assumes we have AK when he raises flop with TP. He will even bet turn, trying to fold us out if he feels we are behind. Given that we 3-bet preflop, he may not be willing to go as far his hand. However, I could see a case for c/r turn. However he usually has JJ here.

this hand would be cooler if we had some sort of read.

I could see a hijack open raiser capping with TT+.

I don't totally disagree with the turn c/r, but we will be lost on the river if he flat calls. I wouldn't want to over value this hand against an unknown.

I think showing down cheaply and getting a read is better than risking a spew and having to fold.

The Red Sox are awesome.

yeah I don't disagree, I just think if preflop went:

preflop: villain limps, hero pfr in SB, villain calls

then post-flop should go:

flop: hero bets, villain raises, hero calls
turn: hero c/r.
