Bet/calling this river is terrible

PF seems bad...but OK. I'd CR flop, or three-bet, or whatever seems best given my previous play when defending blinds...but OK. However, the river play was just horrendous.

Ka$ino had been playing aggressively the whole final table. He started as one of the biggest stacks are built his stack further. Preflop, he had just been raising a lot of hands. When it got 3-handed, he was raising just about every hand, due to the stack sizes and payout structure.

I think Vanessa assumed Ka$ino would play aggressively postflop and keep firing. Ka$ino checked behind with the flush draw on the turn, fearing the checkraise.

On the river, I think check/call is much better. That is my style and how I would play it.

This his her 2nd 6-figure cash, so there must be some strengths to her play. She has posted a couple of hands here with what I thought were weak folds.

You obv just don't understand game-theoretic plays in poker. Read Miss Rousso's first post in this thread to learn about the aggressive call move.

I read the post, just seems like another name for a bad fishy call to me. Also, this thread is heads up, the other is a multiway pot - totally different situation.

Exactly. Hence, any thread which discusses Miss Rousso's play is likely to attract sarcastic comments (like mine, above) about "aggressive calls." Also expect to see comments about game theory.

You know, I thought you were serious for a minute..! Subtle sarcasm isn't as common in the US as in the UK (where I'm from..) so I didn't expect it.
