I'd agree he's a loose preflop, but I've not seen it hurt him too much considering the rest of the players are looser. From what I've seen he tends to make pretty good decisions postflop. He's definitely more aggressive than the other players. He's also much better at the stud8.

Just outta curiosity guys, how good at Stud-8 do you have to be to be able to play in this game?? I've played Stud-8 a handful of times and I have a very basic understanding of the game...Would that hurt you in a 2-way game like this? Doesn't seem like it would, but was just curious...I'm hoping to get a summer internship in Cherry Hill for the summer and wouldn't mind going down to AC every weekend to earn a little extra scratch for my last year of my MBA...

I don't think that will hurt you. You just will have to pick your spots and not be pushed around.

You may want to catch up on your reading before sitting in the game. I found Ray Zee's Book on Stud8 to be extremely helpful. I also suggest looking at old 2+2 posts and do a search on RGP for anything relevant.

Also check out the action in the 10/20 and 30/60 games on Poker Stars. Sitting on the rail you can follow along with how hands are evolved/played out.

There's always the 3/6 2-way at the Taj if you need a live refresher in Stud8. That game usually goes on the weekends.

I second the Ray Zee sentiment. As good as his book is for LO8, it is as good for Stud 8. I think a good once over of the Stud 8 part is all you need to play better than 80% of the table.

Thanks NJChick and Niss...Didn't know that there was an actual Stud-8 book out there...I've read the Brunson part in SS2, which I thought was pretty decent to get a basic understanding...Good call on the rail of the Stud-8 games on Stars NJChick, never thought of that one...I rail the 30/60 LO8 game, never thought of doing that for Stud-8...Glad to see me thinking...LOL...But glad to hear a basic understanding would make me better than 80% of the people there...YUM YUM!!!

The Brunson section alone will put you above 80% of the table. The Zee book should put you above the rest. Good luck to you this summer. If you see someone with an abundant amount of white chips in intricate geometric patterns at the table, please say hello.

I played the Borgata two way on Saturday afternoon from 4 until 8. The game was very good. People seemed to be playing stud/8 even worse than Omaha/8. I made almost 3BB/hr.

I buy in for $400.

The strange thing is that only the Omaha/8 is played with a half-kill (when someone scoops a $150 pot). Stud/8 is played without a kill. The game changes with the dealer. Unless there is a kill in O/8, then the game stays O/8 until the kill comes off.

Funny that you say the game is good at 3 BB/hr. I made 6 BB/hr on Friday. LOLZA.

Edited to correct horrible math.
