Re: check the turn??
you can't check the turn with such a drawy board. i'm not sold on calling the river, but if it is wrong it isn't by much.

Re: check the turn??
I agree with James.
I only check this turn if I don't like money. That said, I don't think you're ahead after the turn C/R, and I think I could find a fold on the river. |

Re: check the turn??
You can probably fold the turn, but it's a little dangerous for future hands. Definitely fold the river. (I'm pretty sure he had QJ, and his reasoning here is this: Hero will probably bet, then I can raise everyone. Oh, but the other guy folds, now I'll wait for a non-diamond turn and then check-raise him)

Re: check the turn??
The main reason why I wouldn't fold the turn outright is I think it might start making other players take shots at you.
You could be behind to two pair, which means you have a fair amount of outs, and you have outs against a straight (only to tie, but it still helps.) A river call is a clear mistake, I agree. |

Re: check the turn??
Also, even if he was bluffing he now probably hit his flush...

Re: check the turn??
When he check-raises you on the turn,he's saying that feels good against your range, which includesAA,KK,1010,& AK.In other words,he thinks that you could easily have a better hand, but he still thinks that he has you beat.
If you think that this particular player doesn't have enough game to be semi-bluffing,then folding, either on the turn or river,is right, imo. The river laydown becomes easier after a diamond hits, because, like HoneyBadger indicated,a lot of the possible semi-bluffs contain a diamond draw,& it got there. |

Re: check the turn??
Is calling the river really "clearly wrong" against an unknown? It may be wrong, but as James said, it isn't by much.
