Re: Need definition of \"Brick\" or Bricks\"
I'd need a little context to be sure, but how I've heard it used is a Turn or River card that is unlikely to help anyone.
For instance, if the Button makes a big pre-Flop raise and the Big Blind calls. The Flop comes Q [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. Now the Big Blind bets and the Button calls. The Turn is 2 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. Based on the beting patterns before and after the Flop, it is highly unlikely the 2 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] helped either player, so the Turn card is "a brick." |

Re: Need definition of \"Brick\" or Bricks\"
Hold 'em or a lowball/high-low game?
The meaning is as already stated for a high-only game. A brick is an undesirable high card in a lowball or high-low game. |

Re: Need definition of \"Brick\" or Bricks\"
When used for hold-em, a brick is a turn or river card very unlikely to help anyone.
Example: flop is Th Qh 8s, putting both flush and straight draws on board. A 5d on the turn would be a be a brick, as it completes neither the flush or the strraight, and isn't a high card. |
