Yeah I know right. Her sister has a truncated tail that looks like a rabbit's. They're all medium-haired cats.

Don't want to fuel the declaw/don't declaw debate, but would like to mention this---a cat's claws can be trimmed.

You have to be careful not to cut into the quick, but any vet's office can show you how to do it (perhaps when you have taken the cat in for shots, etc.) And it's easier if you start when they are young.

It seems like the only defense the opponents of declawing have is "this vet says it's inhumane." Every declawed cat I've ever seen runs, plays, climbs on furniture, purs, sleeps, and eats just like every other cat. These cats do not act as if they are in pain.

[/ QUOTE ]

Yeah, what would a vet know? Its not like he or she is likely to have much knowledge about animals. And they probably object to declaw cats because they do not want work, its not like vets are happy to get costumers and income.

I rather trust someone who has no medical expertise about animals who says cats are fine with being declawed based on the assumption of 1 catīs happiness.

We all know that human beings that have had something amputated are constantly miserable, its not like they somehow are able to show happinness while still missing parts of their body that they ideally would like to get back.

How many of you people who are complaining about it being so mean to Cats to declaw them went out and had some Bacon/Hamburger/Steak recently

[/ QUOTE ]

[ QUOTE ]
As for declawing being illegal in some countries, who cares. It's illegal to be out alone as a woman in some countries

[/ QUOTE ]
So wait... You're comparing animal cruelty to people eating so as to live, and you're comparing the UK legal situation to the Iranian, so that you can defend declawing? I will have trouble taking any of your future arguments seriously.

Kittens are cute and it's awesome b/c you get to raise them while they are at their most impressionable

[/ QUOTE ]
This thread becomes incredibly scary if you replace the word "kitten" or "cat" with "child"
