Default AK on 50nl, overplayed or standard?

No reads on villain, except that he is french and sits shortstacked so probadly isn't a good player. Did I overplay AK here or is this standard?

- $0.25/$0.50 - No Limit Hold'em -
Seat 2: SB ($22.55)
Seat 3: BB ($29.34)
Seat 6: Hero (Btn) ($72.90)
*** PREFLOP ***
Hero is button with [Ac Kc]
Hero raises to $1.75, SB folds, BB calls ($1,25)

Standard

*** FLOP *** [Jc 6h 9h] ($3,75)
BB bets $1.00, Hero raises to $3.25, BB calls

Pretty standard, but I might have been better by raising to $4

*** TURN *** [Jc 6h 9h] [6d] ($10,25)
BB bets $3.00, Hero calls

Very weard lead by the Villain here. I put him on a marginal hand he wants cheaply showdowned or a flush/straigthdraw (8T/TQ). I think it is too expensive to find out here and I have no fold equity if he has a marginal hand. If he has a draw I have him beat now and a big raise will only be called by a better hand. Anyone shoving here? (he has about $20 behind), anyone folding?

*** RIVER *** [Jc 6h 9h 6d] [2c] ($16,25)
BB bets $16.25, Hero calls

The 2 changes nothing except that every draw has missed. Villain showed enoumous weaknes by his weak leads on the flop and the turn and this out of line potbet is almost always a missed draw with these guys. a made and (lke a 6) would probadly bet lower. Shoving has no fold equity since he has only a few dollars behind

when villians weakbet (call reraise), weakbet, PSB on the river it is not a bluff often enough to call with A high IMO.

I dont mind the flop raise, but the weak lead on the turn is your cue to dump.

Fold on turn, if he has a draw so be it, you can find a better spot to get the money in. If you are making those turn and river calls often I think you are losing lots of money in these situations as opposed to the few times when villian is bluffing.

I must note here that the "bet pot with missed draw line" comes along quite often on this site

We are not in the business of finding better spots, only +EV spots. Not trying to be pedantic; it makes a big difference in the long run.

this is not a +EV spot (we have 6 outs to get into a RIO situation) so fold turn.

[/ QUOTE ]He didn't play this anything like a draw though. There's no way a marginally weak-tight opponent leads that turn with a draw. This line is almost always top pair or 2 pair.

I never understand why people chase AK to the river like this. If you miss it's bad luck and you have to dump it. 99% of the time you are beat.

fwiw, I associate this weak bets and then a PSB on the river with bluffs. I don't know if I'd call here because he could easily be bluffing with a better hand.

You guys really think he has top 2 or trips here? about 90% of the times a lead minbet (or veery small like this) means a marginal hand/draw and is usually folded to a normal c-bet. his line doesn't really add up with a hand like top 2 or trips 6's, since he would much rather raise it after my raise on flop, checkraise it on the turn or bet lower on the river to "suck me in".
