What\'s up with my 360?
So, I bought my Xbox 360 in April. It's been great, and I love it. However, on some games, it "freezes" up, and I get a "disk read error". It always restarts just fine, and I've never had any issues besides this occurring. Sometimes it goes days without happening, sometimes it happens twice in one night. It doesn't scratch disks, and some games it's NEVER happened with (COD2 for instance).
Anyone else had this experience? What should I do? I got it at Best Buy, no extended warranty though. Any advice is much appreciated. (PS--Save the "Xbox 360 = the sux0rs---get a Wii or PS3!" It's completely OT for this post, and I'm getting a Wii! |

This happened to my brother. He bought the cooling fan and that worked but contact Xbox support it has something to do with it getting too hot and they gave hime a new one.

You bought a 360. It's [censored] up. Standard.
Try getting Microsoft to give you a new one or get it fixed somewhere. PS2 all over? |

Not having any warranty sucks. It depends on the exact problem. Some they will replace & some not. Call them.
I have a 360 with no warranty or anything though so don't feel bad. |

It's not like it's unplayable, and it doesn't seem to be getting any worse. It's just kind of annoying, that's all.

same problem; it makes Madden almost unplayable, but i can play Fifa or Dead Rising almost no problem (occasinoal when it's left to 'think' for a bit, which made me think it was a cooling problem too.

I have a launch day unit and I've had it lock up a few times but have never gotten a disk read error. If it bothers you, call up M$, or try to get one of the cooling systems out there and try that.

Re: What\'s up with my 360?
The first time I played a 360 outside of a store at a friend's house he had the same problem. Except his would lock up almost all the time. It was also his second unit. It's something to do with overheating. He shipped that one back to Microsoft and got yet a 3rd one.
