Underoath : Define The Great Line - Thoughts on new album?
Just bought it today and it is obviously much edgier than "They're Only Chasing Safety" and deviates from the emo/pop direction the last album started to head towards. Overall I think it is a very good album and am just curious what some others think.

i saw them once live open for Converge (I think) at the ICC Church in allston, ma. Easily one of the shittiest bands I've ever seen. And the keyboardist looks like Philip Seymour Hoffman having a downie seizure. Just awful.

Depending on when you saw them, they've changed a lot since their first album. New singer and whatnot. They're actually awesome live and super nice guys(and super straight edge). I hung out with them backstage when they were on tour with Thrice. Everything is like "Gosh dangit!" or "what the freak!"

I'm not into the scene really, so I couldn't care less how straight edge they are. All I know is they are super generic, terrible moshmetal.
And in general, I find the whole christian hardcore thing weird. I can let it pass if you totally shred, but sorry bro, they just don't. But I'm glad you got to hang backstage. Scene points!! |

Moshmetal? You're an idiot man. Hey, keep judging bands after seeing them maybe perform in a church who knows how long ago. And you're super smart for mistaking me calling them straight edge as some kind of compliment.

Dude, relax. I've heard them since. Now the drummer sings.. ooh how dynamic. It's generic, it's boring. And the keyboardist still looks like PSH on LSD.

But that raises the question: why mention it at all then? If you're really in the whole sXe thing and you think it's cool they are, that's fine. I was just stating I personally don't care. The music just doesn't tingle my sack, sXe or no sXe. No need to be so defensive. I gotta thank you, though. I'm going to put my Trial CD on now due to all this straight edge talk. |

Yeah, awesome like watching an absolute trainwreck is awesome. I just got so "wtf?" about him, because the dude doing the absolutely least in the band is the one going off the most.
