2. They don't know the difference between trips and a set. [/ QUOTE ] Wow dude, technically they are the same ---> see Webster's or any Poker Glossary, BUT it is common (sort of like slang) to refer to a set as 3 of a kind made with a pocket pair and trips being made with a pair on the board. |

Re: Things people say or do in live tournaments to let you know they suck
"I'll call your 500 and re raise another 500"
"eventually I'll have a hand" (after I repeatedly raise blind on blind) "What? I had a king and a Jack, suited, thats a really good hand" (after calling an all in of 20 big blinds) "That is totally sick! So unlucky" (after the monster that is AT runs into AK) "I think your bluffing, ok, im all in then!" (when they clearly have the nuts and even show afterwards) |

[ QUOTE ] 2. They don't know the difference between trips and a set. [/ QUOTE ] I didn't know this... [/ QUOTE ] I am surprised Soul Man that a smart alec like you does not know something . It is held by some but there are poker theorists who use the terms interchangably and others yet who hold to the distinction but fail to use the correct terminology rigorously. |
