Default Buying 2008 Beijing Summer Olympic Tickets

I've done some searching online and haven't come up with much. It seems like chinese peoplemainly get first dibs on tickets in lotteries. Some questions that pop to mind... if I got tickets to a running event, would I come in,watch a 100 M sprint and then leave after 20 minutes? How much do you think scalped gymnastics tickets will cost? Are the olympics totally aweome to watch live? Anyone here looking to make that trip to Bejing?

Pulling answers out of my ass:

1. If you bought tickets to a track & field event, you have permission to watch all day, so you could watch a lot of races.

2. Depends on the gymnastics event: prelims would cost less than the finals. Lots of events don't sell out, but Gymnastics usually does, especially because China has a good gymnastics team. I would guess tickets would cost between $100-$400 each.

3. I think it would be a good experience to watch that stuff and I'd do it if I wasn't lazy and cheap, but it would help if you know something about the sport.

For the track events, they usually are done by session of about 3-4 hours covering several events.

I'm interested to watch basketball as Yao and Yi JianLian pwn the crap out of team USA.

Just kidding. But those should sell out quickly too, no?

Another event i want to see is baseball.
