M is around 4. Villain is obviously desperate. Is calling here OK or is it preferable to wait for a better spot?

I don't know if it's the best decision or not, but I'd wait for a better spot. I just don't like calling all-in with Q high when I can avoid it.

Generally speaking, any time you're getting 2:1 or better on calling a short stack push from the BB you can pretty much call without bothering looking at your cards. Unless you've got bubble/pay out considerations this is always going to be at auto call (especially with a hand as strong as qt)

Even when calling puts nearly 50% of our stack at risk?

I don't like calling either I would be much happier pushing with 10 high with some fold equity behind me.
