Re: Can we have a \"Las Vegas\" forum?
[ QUOTE ]
Trip reports (to casinos and "casino destinations" pretty much don't belong in Travel, since that's not what the travel forum is for, or what trip reports are for. Trip reports are for telling your friends about your trip or whatever, and so you're generally trying to share your trip with the people in your "home forum." Trip reports also could reasonably be cross posted, travel and home forum, whatever that may be. If for instance I wanted to post about a month in Europe, I'd post it in Travel and in STTF. One for relevance, so that people looking for info about the destination could find it, and one for my friends. [/ QUOTE ] Yes, I think cross posting trip reports would be a good idea. |

TT, please don't ban me for disagreeing with you. [/ QUOTE ] I don't need to ban you for disagreeing, I'm sure at this rate you will figure out another way to get banned on your own without my involvement. Something that will probably make everyone stand up an applaud on your way out would be kinda cool. |

Re: Can we have a \"Las Vegas\" forum?

The problem with taking Vegas (or AC or Tunica, etc.) questions and trip reports out of B&M is that you will make the B&M forum insufferably dull. [/ QUOTE ] I'd like to clarify my position for adding a Las Vegas forum. B&M will not change (in my opinion). Poker rooms & info should stay in B&M. The Las Vegas section would have specific questions & topics only relevant to Vegas. Example topics I would expect to see: Cheapest hotel rates Best Live entertainment Day trips to the Grand Canyon Getting around Vegas [Insert Band] coming to the Strip! [Insert 2+2 Member] throwing party Saturday Night. BBQ & Beer! Nothing about the Casino's or Poker. Just everyday events, questions, and random city stuff. |

[/ QUOTE ] Some Vegas trip reports posted in B&M have no poker content, some have a little poker content, some have none what so ever. The beauty of the report is in the artistry of the author, but it also makes a judgement call by the moderator if we feel the report is better suited in another forum. In short no matter what we do there will be situations that deviate from the norm. Thats what makes forums so great - rules are made to be broken for the good of the community. |

Re: Can we have a \"Las Vegas\" forum?
*semi-grunch*
wow, i would love a Las Vegas forum. i think that there are some good points toward the top of the thread, didn't read through all of them, but i think the nicest thing about a LV forum would be that you don't have to go to 3 different places looking for 3 different things. sure some things COULD go in OOT and COULD go in the EL D forum, but if they were all in one place, it would be much easier to navigate and there probably wouldn't be as many duplicate threads. |
