Villain turned over As Qs for the nut flush. What do you think of his play ?

[/ QUOTE ]

I like his play if he knew you were a thinking player and aimed to represent a draw on the turn.

No way I'm folding JJ pre to villain.
I would definitely have led 45-50 and hoped for a raise by QQ+. I like donking out when I catch a set in 3bet pots because when they have an overpair and raise you, you're secured to take their stack. Even if they call you, you're in good shape to take their stack on later streets because of the bloated pot.

except you miss out on a potentially large CB from villain, and besides, villain's calling a flop C-R all the time with QQ+ on this drawy a board. however, if you're hoping to get a bluff push from AK, you're much better off betting something like $25 here. $45 is just terrible.

bump for others and I'd like Imrahil thoughts on Villain's play and why he didn't like it, how he would have played it in Villain's shoes and in my shoes pf and on flop

I just bet flop as a default with no real reads. The problem being that taking a "free card" isn't all that great since if an A comes up and you get the monies in on the turn you're probably behind and sorta the same w/ a Q.
