Default Rookie dealers slowing down the game (on table charge)

At this casino they have a number of brand new young dealers, straight out of dealing school. Tonight I've had two at my table, both very insecure, one also a bit agitated.
To be fair, the players didn't do anything to make it easier on them, there were continuous discussions and disagreements, despite there being an experienced dealer standing behind the table ready to dictate the correct actions. As a result, the game progressed very, very slowly (think 10 hands/hour tops). After a while I call the floor and politely point out that given that the game is going at an unnaturally low speed, we shouldn't be charged full table charge (£10/hr). He firmly replies that as far as he can see it's not because of the dealers, it's only the players' fault, because they are dwelling and interfering on every action, so no discounts on table charges.

I failed to point out that if the dealers hadn't been so insecure and unauthoritative, the players (some of whom were indeed behaving as aholes) wouldn't have been so eager to jump in on every controversy - at any rate, it was crystal clear that those young boys and girls were totally out of their depth.

Thoughts?

This is the price you pay sometimes with time charge, but for every experienced dealer that gets in 15 hands in his half hour down, you're not going to tell the floorman that you should pay double for the exquisite service you were just given. Unfortunately you have to take the good with the bad.

Why would you keep playing if you were dealt one hand every 6 minutes?

What do you believe the BREAKEVEN point is for the number of hands dealt in a half hour period?

Anybody care to guess?

Not "only" the players' fault, but largely so. Tell your tablemates to shut up and play cards. If they continue to make the rookie dealers' lives miserable for "the sport of it", live with the fact you will get few hands per hour.
