QQ Preflop
$1.25 45-player SnG (FullTilt).
Blinds t20/40 Hero is UTG+1 with t1,200 Villain is SB with t3,175 Hero raises to t140 with Q [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Q [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Folds to Villain in SB, who raises to t960. No real read on Villain- he had just doubled up against TPTK with a well-executed set mine. Hero? |

[ QUOTE ] ...pushes so fast he doesn't even have time to fist-pump! [/ QUOTE ] [/ QUOTE ] Isn't there an argument that we are almost always looking at AA, KK or AK here? If so, we are either crushed or a 6:5 favorite. |

Re: QQ Preflop
I somehow sense we are going to be presented with the results where Hero stacks Villain after being shown AA or KK. But, the words "Yes, we can fold QQ against Villain's probable monster since he just executed a well-timed set mine" is not going to be my results-oriented answer...

I somehow sense we are going to be presented with the results where Hero stacks Villain after being shown AA or KK. [/ QUOTE ] Not at all. Villain had AK and hit his Ace. I didn't think anything of it, but before I could close the window a couple players chastised my play ("QQ - what a donkey" etc.). So I took a look at Doyle Brunson's section on QQ and there it was-- he doesn't like to get it all in with QQ preflop because it's too likely that we're crushed or only a slight favorite. The part about the well-executed set mine was to distinguish Villain from the typcial player at this level. Fairly early in a $1.25 people are pushing with any paint & any pair, so I would almost never even think about folding. But I was fairly sure that this Villain wasn't getting worked up over KJ or sevens. |

Re: QQ Preflop
Doyle Brunson was also talking of a cash game with more then 200bb behind him and 100K in cash on the table playing against the best in the world. Believe me he is 100% pushing here.
You got your money in ahead, I wouldn't listen to the players at these tables. |
