Simple hand gets ugly on the river
Ok, it's been a while since I've posted a hand, and now I can't get the converter to work at all, so I guess I'll do this the old-fashioned way.
I have only have a few hands with the two guys involved, so no reads. Neither one has done anything unusual yet. Party 5/10, 6 handed. I am in the SB with Ad 9c. UTG limps. Folds to me. I complete. BB checks. Flop: 6c, Js, Jh checks around. Turn: Jd checks around. River: As I bet, BB raises, UTG 3-bets Me: WTF?! |

Re: Simple hand gets ugly on the river
Oh, crap. You're probably chopping at best (possibly 3-ways, if you are chopping), and I don't think the 1.5 BBs you'll salvage by calling down a 3-way chop is worth another 2-3 BB investment.
I think UTG will have a jack he patiently slowplayed the whole way too often. I probably would have bet the flop, by the way. I think raising preflop is also a consideration, versus just one limper. |

Raise pf, bet the flop. [/ QUOTE ] I'm more concerned about the river decision. Although it's true that raising preflop will often eliminate J2/J3 type hands from the picture, I think not raisng is probably only a small mistake. |

Re: Simple hand gets ugly on the river
FWIW. I definitely would have check/called the river.
I really don't think it matters what you do on the river now. Folding is 0EV. Calling getting 7:2 for a 3way split at best is probably about the same. |
