River: J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3.3BB, 2 players)

even vs. a maniac, does anyone call here in such a small spot? Granted he could have a2, 25, retarded hands, but for the most part, if any villain peels the flop for that matter, by the time we get to the river, straight draws get there, flush draws get there, and overcards get there

i'm not folding A-high vs. a psycho when he doesn't nothing but check and call then donk the river.

If he "got there" on the river or turn, he would have c/r the flop, or 3bet PF. My guess is he has absolutely nothing most of the time, and pot size doesn't matter when you are winning most of the time.

how lightly does he peel the flop? some maniacs will do so with almost any 2, esp on paired boards.

will he always bet when you show weakness? based is his aggression factor I think he probably does.

would he play a straight or flush draw aggressively on the flop?

I would call the river here.

This guy doens't call very much. If has any draw, or even A-high, he's betting/raising somewhere, or raising PF>

About the only hand you are losing to is a flopped monster that this guy doesn't know how to play. And there are lots of combos of trash, and only a few flopped monsters.

well, you're a 3:2 dog against a random hand on the river and he probably folds some really crap small card hands so a fold isn't bad. also, he's aggressive so i get a little confused by his call on the flop. how often was he folding the flop??? that's the key here i think.

I don't think calling is terrible since you'll get some info and it's possibly a call anyway.

i'd call and see what he has but i think it's close.

Eh, being a 3:2 dog doesn't lead to a fold when we're getting 4.3:1. I don't think it's very close.

I'd showdown Ace high 100% of the time on 100% of boards.

I call all day here vs a maniac.

I dont see his range being that tighter than a random hand, your 60/40 underdog vs a random hand, I assume he bets all/most of his range here.

Pretty easy call I think getting 3.3:1.

The problem is your applying the logic "what could he call the flop bet with, everything that could logically get to the river did" to someone who doesnt make logical calls.

Also FWIW, I think it's correct vs a very light raiser to peel any two cards on that flop in his position too.

Unless you have a read that passive play early = monster (seomtiems this is true with maniacs).. you have an easy call here.
