Is biting the thing really the best way to help you figure out if it's a diamond or not? You either end up with

A) shattered glass in your mouth
B) broken teeth & no idea whether it's a diamond

Maybe hit it with a hammer or something?

The more you know:

Diamonds are very hard but also very brittle. I.e., they can cut steel but shatter easily. Hitting it with a hammer is just asking to be doomswitched.

No one but a skilled jeweler could tell the difference between a well cut cubic and a real diamond with the naked eye. I'd take it to a jeweler and have them look at it.

I'd say 85% chance its a cubic.

i told you i know it is cubic zirconium now, but i didn't before.


anyways as a follow up I still have it (in my wallet) and I occasionally use it as a card protector.
