Default Blind steal here?

6 handed, folded around to me in SB. I have 980 chips, BB is 120. BB only has 1100, so I figure his range is going to be fairly tight here....anyway, I push with T8s and he almost insta calls with Q8o...I was very suprised with his call...anyway, I hit a 10 and get shipped the pot, he spends the next 5 minutes bitching me out on how terrible of a play it was....I figure its a very standard play, I wasnt going to sit on 7 BB's and hope to pick up a hand in the next 3....anyway, was this the right play or was this guy right calling me a donk...I really think it was the right play, but then again if it wasnt then I really am a donk, lol...whats the play here?

you can't determine his calling range based only on his stack size, but without reads it's an easy push

ps: most players on low buy-ins tourneys don't know anything about sng strategy, so it's pretty common to have someone bitching when you hit something like your T. just turn the chat off if it bothers you

2. if someone berates you in the chat, you probably made a good play

haha, thats pretty true, im not saying im a poker god or anything...I would say im pretty good...a winning player, but it seems like the only people who talk strategy or about the way somebody else plays are usually the worse players...imo

I don't play FT so I'm not as familiar with the 120 level there, but I think you would be hard pressed to find a calling range that makes this -EV for pushing 8Ts .

Definitely push with T8 here.

I'd fold the Q8 if I was the big blind. It seems like an absolutely terrible call.

What's the rest of the stacks?

Just a guess but Q8o might be a +EV call if sb is shoving 100%, but I'm sure it gets really bad really fast with a tighter sb pushing range.
