How many here got 5's on AP tests that they didn't have a class for? That's as good a metric as any of the crap people are citing here as evidence.

[/ QUOTE ]

Bleh, that's a measure of "who here is smart but stayed in high school instead of going into college early?"

Does anyone have statistics on IQ scores? Specifically, what percent of those tested are above 140, 150, 160, etc? I've searched for this stuff before but never found it.

And for peen-waving, who else took the SATs in 7th grade (part of the GATE program) and how did you do?

My 7th grade score was only 40 points lower than when I took it as a junior in hs.

The kids I knew in high school that had skipped grades were not smart. At all. Not even "book smart," as people like to call it. They were more a product of pushy parents than their own intellectual aptitude. I chose to not go to college early because I kinda liked track.

I'm pretty sure that you're not the smartest guy here if you can't use google to find the standard deviation on IQ.

Yeah we didn't call it GATE in MI, but had the same thing. I scored like 100 lower than when I was in 10th grade.

Dynasty called the 2004 presidential election more accurately than, basically, anyone anywhere.

I guessed Bush would win too.

Edit: ohh damnit - I didn't post that prediction in 2+2, so I guess there's no proof.

[/ QUOTE ]

umm. did you guess every single state correctly and get within 1-2% of the correct vote breakdown for each state?

If he did it with no background or effort, then he's psychic.

If he did it with intense study, then he's dedicated.

If he did it with a RNG, then he's lucky.

If he did it with match sticks, then he's autistic.

Well, either way, he did it. Whereas you're just sitting in your lazyboy taking a s.hit on his work.

Cosimo,
most IQ tests use 15 points as a standard deviation. Keep in mind this represents one standard deviation for white people in developed countries.

Why do threads like this have to go on to the stupid "I don't think SAT's really measure.. blah blah.." That's correct, they don' t tell the whole story. But, they aren't meaningless either. That's why people were asked to post other accomplishments, etc. Otherwise, I would have just asked who had the highest SAT score, and it would have been likely a couple responded with 1600.
