Well I've got 4 tens allthough the 10 of diamonds might not be too good. A backdoor flush worth maybe 1 out. 4 or 5 outs I need about 8 to 1 to call. I'm not getting that but its tough figure all this on the fly.

~1.5 outs for backdoor flush (runner runner spade) 3 tens will give you the nuts, and T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] I'll count as half an out, Qs and Js probably 0,for a total of 5 outs. You're getting 6.5:1 currently, for which you need ~7 outs. However, if you do hit the 3 good tens you'll collect many extra bets, and to a lesser extent the same will happen with runner runner diamond. Hence you might have the implied odds to call on the flop. The deciding factor is how aggressive the players left to act are: if they call too much, then you are good to call this bet; if they fold and/or raise often, tend to fold this.

I know exactly how you feel, i felt the same way myself once. Do the same thing to a boatload of hands here in the forum, either to yourself or as a gruch (see FAQ). Repititon breeds familiarity.

I'd call IF BB is not aggressive, and if UTG+1 is known to bluff sometimes. You've got decent implied odds on the gutshot, and you're Q or J might be good if you hit.

You will need to be able to figure this stuff out on the fly. Use a cheat sheet for a couple months if you have to, with the odds you need for each type of call (gutshot, two pair, etc).

And use implied odds, taking into account how likely your opponents are to bet into you and to call your bets/raises if/when you do hit.

raise preflop

flop is a fold, but i dont think a call is really that bad at a loose passive game like this if you can expect to get paid off and also to not get raised very often behind you. so if the players yet to act are reeeally call stationy and passive, calling is probably the right play.

This is probably not a good suggestion if OP is still at a point where he is learning to figure odds at the table.
