Default budget/ethnic cooking thread

My roommate is a pretty outstanding self taught cook, he makes stuff that falls outside of the realm that most home cooks make (lots of indian, chinese, thai influence). A lot of the stuff is super delicious, easy to make, and since he is broke, super inexpensive.

budget college cook


Anyway, I thought I would post the link here, maybe some of you will get some good ideas for new stuff to try. (also I have some guest blog posts too...)

I don't know where you live but it's pretty easy to find here in San Francisco. I go to a place called Haig's Delicacies for my all my spice needs.

Rainbow in SF also has a superb spice selection.
