Default 10/17 NHL Picks

YTD: 7-5-2

Philly vs Buffalo

This is going to be a tough, physical game. The Flyers are looking for revenge after being bumped from the playoffs by the Sabers last year. But Buffalo is scary hot right now, while Philly is struggling. Miller is playing very well with a 2.83 GAA and Philly is leaning towards starting Esche for this game. I'm definatly not fading Buffalo until they give me a reason to. Buffalo & Over 6

Calgary vs Montreal

Calgary's offense has been non-existant thus far scoring only 9 goals in 5 games. Montreal is 2 shootouts away from being 4-0, but they haven't been scoring many goals either. Calgary's powerplay has been awful thus far as well (1-33). I like the Canadiens at home. The O/U is at 5, and there's a strong possibility of this game going to a shootout (Montreal has already been in 3 shootouts). But neither offense has done much, I'm going to stay away from this O/U. Montreal

Phoenix vs St. Louis

Phoenix is awful averaging a 4.6 GA per game. St. Louis is improving (going for their 3rd straight win). CuJo is currently giving up 4.38 goals per game. I like St. Louis and Under 6

Vancouver vs Edmonton

Vancouver had a good 2-1 win vs Edmonton at home last night, and now they're in Edmonton for the back end of a home-and-home. I expect Edmonton to put alot more than 18 shots on Luongo tonight. I don't see Edmonton getting swept in a home-and-home. Roloson has been playing very well with a 2.42 GAA. Edmonton takes this game. Edmonton & Under 6

edit: mistakenly put 6 as the Edmonton/Vancouver line, it's really 5.5

Dallas vs San Jose

Dallas has been very impressive thus far. It's really hard to pick against a 5-0 team. But San Jose is 4-1 themselves. Marty Turco has put up an awesome 1.57 GAA. Both teams have been scoring a decent amount of goals however. I just can't bring myself to fade Dallas yet. I'll take them as a road dog. Dallas & Over 5.5
